Innovative Lesson

Teachers always want the best for their students. They plan their lesson so that it will go smoothly and most importantly, majority of the students able to understand what is conveyed by the teacher. A few chapters in all subject typically require different approach so that students can easily grasp the content. In order to produce an effective lesson, I believe that all teachers need to to work hard for that in doing some innovation in teaching and learning, unless the lesson will be carried out in same way as alwaysπŸ‘€. From my almost 9 years experience of teaching, I admit that I could not have innovation lesson every time I teach, it is not easy! 😜 but possible. However, since the forth year of teaching, I had promised myself that I will do AT LEAST one innovation lesson in a week and I did it! It is better that nothing right? During the early years of teaching, I did not do much innovation in classroom as I focused more on strengthening the content. I just read books and searched internet for resources of content.

What prompted me to do this was due to a talk by an excellent teacher (Guru Cemerlang) who have implemented even a very simple innovation during learning and his students enjoyed his lesson moreover he had successfully upgraded the results of his students in Physics. The innovation does not necessarily producing a teaching aid physically but it can be as simple as editing an exiting video to suit the content that gives high impact to students' learning. I still remember the modified 'ultraman video clip' that has been shown in this courseπŸ˜„. This creative innovation is really interesting for us educators and of course for the students. He also showed the other video that was cut-edited from an action movie and asked us to discuss  about the motion of the few vehicles in the video, relating the concept of velocity, acceleration, time and displacement. The audience in this course are teachers in majority and we were so excited with this type of approach in teaching and learning. Imagine our students' reaction!😎😎

An innovative lesson as I need an amount of time for the preparation. Frankly, I ever spent two whole days to plan my one-hour-lesson properly, yes! just for only 1 lesson! 😳 Could not imagine how I'm going to have properly innovated lesson for all classes. This is why, for the moment, I try to discipline on 1 week 1 innovation approach. Maybe, as time goes by, my skills in teaching being upgraded, then I can have more. Here is a video of an example of innovative lesson that has been conducted by myself. In this lesson, students do experiment as an approach in order to prove the concept of exponential curve of radioactive decay. Apart from that, I applied Quizlet as a tool in order to engage students with the lesson.

Concept Mapping

Salam 'alaik,  InshaAllah, today I would like to share about what I've been learning from my Master course that is CONCEPT MAPPING. We did it practically during the lesson, not just learning it by theory. This hands on experience really intrigued me.  Concept Mapping is a verb.  It is  a way to connect the knowledge of certain topics based on its concepts while Concept Map is a noun where  it is a type of graphic organizer used to help students organize and represent knowledge of a subject.  Concept maps  begin with a main idea (or c oncept ) and then branch out to show how that the ideas are connected to the other ideas. In order to link the concepts, we need to start a sentence by a quantity and end it also by a quantity.  Our lecturer, Dr NurulHuda had introduced a website  where we able to apply doing concept map. We practiced using this software by applying 2 topics. The first concept map is for the States of Matter and the ...

Electric Potential

Electric Potential, V If Ali wants to move his charge towards the charged sphere on the left, he has to push against the repulsive force between the two spheres (because both are positively charged) Ali is actually doing work (when he push) , Remember W= f.s  ! At the same time, Ali's charge gains electric potential energy . If Ali let go his charge, it will move away from the sphere, it looses electric potential energy. The  electric potential  at a point is telling us the  potential energy of each coulomb of charge . When you move a charge in an electric field its potential energy changes. This is analogous to moving a mass in a gravitational field. Electric potential is a scalar quantity. Thank you, Mdm Ummi Atiah KMPk ~  May it Benefits You βž½πŸ’•
