Deformation of Solids

Deformation of Solids 💗  Solid is characterized by very packed particles and they are not free to move around within the substance. A solid can change its shape when pressure is applied to it. The forces applied to the solids will amend the position of the solid particles and its spacings. This will then changes the external structure or shape and size of the solid, which defines deformation of solids.   Stress  is the measure of the force required to cause solid deformation. A   strain  is the measure of the degree of deformation.  The strain is given as a fractional change in either the length, geometry or volume. It is a dimensionless number.  The greater the stress , the greater the strain . The proportionality constant in this relation is known as the   Young's modulus,Y  .                                          Stress =  Young's modulus,Y ❌   strain The ratio of stress to strain is kn own as  Young's modulus . It defines the amount of force requi

Reflection & Refraction

Reflection Reflection means if light hits any surface material, it will  bounce back . Reflection has it's laws 1) the incident angle and the reflected angle are the same. 2) the incident angle, reflected ray and the normal line of the surface must all lie on the same plane. To get the image resulted from reflection phenomenon , we need to draw ray diagram based on a few principles. One of the path taken by the ray is the incident ray go straight to the mirror parallel to principal axis and then reflected through focal point. Where is the focal point? Focal point is the middle point between pole  and the centre of the curvature of the mirror Thank you, Mdm Ummi Atiah KMPk ~  May it Benefits You ➽💕

Charging a capacitor

As we know, the capacitor is a place where electrical charges (positive and negative) are stored. hence, we have to understand that a capacitor will undergoes the process of CHARGING and DISCHARGING. Once it stores the electrical chargers (and energy) , they need to be charged up and to release the stored energy for particular use, the capacitor is discharged. CHARGING PROCESS HOW A CAPACITOR IS CHARGED? Figure 1: Charging the capacitor When the switch is closed like in a figure above, when the circuit is on the electrons will flow from negative terminal of the battery.  they go to the nearest plate that is plate A . At the same time, the original electrons at plate B will flow to the positive terminal of the battery, leaving positive charges at the this plate.  This process are collecting electrons at plate A and positive charges at plate B . The flow of electrons stop when the potential, V between the plates (due to the existence of positive & negative charg
