Augmented Reality (AR)

Augmented Reality (AR) Looking at a picture of an object is our smartphones that seems rising (like the pictures below) and able to be rotated three sixty degree is interesting , isn't it?  To have this, it require a technology that is called as augmented reality (AR). 'augment' means to increase or to add to the existing reality. AR basically a technology that superimposes an image that is generated from computer on the view of the real world, then producing a composite view. It is kind of an interactive digital experience of the real object that is being 'augmented'. AR is used in smartphones apps which employ the phone's camera in order to show the real world in front of us. If you ever heard or play POKEMON GO, you had actually came across the AR. AR is something like we give a life to a non-living object. The other famous example of AR application is the IKEA apps. By using this app, customers are able to select their desired furniture the...

Virtual Reality (VR)

Salam 'alaik,  Would you like to experience the fun ride in Disneyland without travelling there in reality? or going on a trip to our desirable places to visit? Plus we want to experience it anytime we prefer. This is possible but we merely able to experience it virtually and this is what we call virtual reality (VR).  VR is a technology which serves as  an interactive computer-generated experience in a simulated environment. It integrates mainly auditory and visual feedback, but may also allow other types of sensory feedback. This immersive environment can be similar to the real world or it can be fantastical.   Google VR box The application of VR can be found mostly from games. However, it also can be applied in education in order to enhance students' learning in classroom. Through VR, we are able to experience anything or places as if we are really there. Smartphone is one of the tools that can be utilised to apply VR. Once it is on the screen, w...

Concept Mapping

Salam 'alaik,  InshaAllah, today I would like to share about what I've been learning from my Master course that is CONCEPT MAPPING. We did it practically during the lesson, not just learning it by theory. This hands on experience really intrigued me.  Concept Mapping is a verb.  It is  a way to connect the knowledge of certain topics based on its concepts while Concept Map is a noun where  it is a type of graphic organizer used to help students organize and represent knowledge of a subject.  Concept maps  begin with a main idea (or c oncept ) and then branch out to show how that the ideas are connected to the other ideas. In order to link the concepts, we need to start a sentence by a quantity and end it also by a quantity.  Our lecturer, Dr NurulHuda had introduced a website  where we able to apply doing concept map. We practiced using this software by applying 2 topics. The first concept map is for the States of Matter and the ...

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY Teacher is one noble profession. Teachers basically do the same job as medical doctor that is TREATING. While doctors treat patients of various illnesses and complications, teachers treat students’ misconceptions during learning. Both teacher and doctor are helping us in improving the education and health quality of our society. These two are the main aspects that needed to be taken care of for all countries. In order to be someone who are able to treat and help other people, teachers themselves have to be strong and passionate towards their profession and also towards their students. For me, to be a teacher, it must start from the beginning which means to produce excellent students, the education background of the teacher her/himself must be excellent in terms of the achievement. I always believe that only teachers with remarkable learning experience will try hard to make their students work to the very least like her/him. To achieve what I’m h...

Capacitors

Capacitors Capacito r is a device that is normally used in electrical appliances such as radios, computers and TV. There are many different types(looks) of capacitors as shown below: The function of the capacitor is to store electrical charges. Remember , we have 2 types of charges ( positive and negative). Once the capacitor has stored the charge, it can release electrical energy. I give you an example: The flash unit of camera also uses a capacitor. The fact that the camera can give out the flash, it is actually releasing the energy from the charge that is stored in the capacitor. When we measure something , it must has its own quantity and unit. For example, (i) the length (quantity) of a ruler --> the unit is metre (ii) the mass  (quantity) of a ball --> the unit is  kg Same goes to the capacitor, the quantity measured by the capacitor is capacitance and its unit is Farad.  Scientifically, the meaning of capacitance is the ratio ...

Electric Potential

Electric Potential, V If Ali wants to move his charge towards the charged sphere on the left, he has to push against the repulsive force between the two spheres (because both are positively charged) Ali is actually doing work (when he push) , Remember W= f.s  ! At the same time, Ali's charge gains electric potential energy . If Ali let go his charge, it will move away from the sphere, it looses electric potential energy. The  electric potential  at a point is telling us the  potential energy of each coulomb of charge . When you move a charge in an electric field its potential energy changes. This is analogous to moving a mass in a gravitational field. Electric potential is a scalar quantity. Thank you, Mdm Ummi Atiah KMPk ~  May it Benefits You ➽💕

Electricity: Coulomb's Law

Coulomb's Law The ancient Greeks found that a piece of amber, when rubbed became electrified and attracted pieces of straw or feathers. In 1785, Charles Coulomb describes experiments that confirmed the inverse-square force law of electricity. Coulomb's law is the fundamental law of force. Coulomb's law discusses the force between two stationary charged particles. STATIONARY, please bear in your mind! (we'll learn a different concept for the MOVING charges)  Knowing that, there are two type of charges: that are positive a nd negative charges. The Coulomb force can be attractive and/or repulsive where it depends on the types of charges interacted. Like charges repel one another Opposite charges attract one another Let's understand this example of experiment, an inflated balloon is rubbed with wool . The balloon will then stick to the wall of a room, often for hours (on a dry day). Rubbing the balloon with the wool is equivalent to taking off the neg...
